    The Design Laboratory for Conservation and Recovery of Architectural Heritage addresses and develops design explorations of existing artefacts, their relationship with the context and the definition of possible volumetric extensions. This necessarily entails a reflection on the relationship between old and new, that is, between past and future history, yet to be written. It is therefore a question of investigating the various possibilities ranging from conservative restoration practices to the grafting of new architectural and urban regeneration devices, applying the tools of architectural and structural design, deepening the relationship between memory and invention, also in relation to the problems arising from the analysis and rethinking of the existing city. The case study identified is the former Provveditorato agli Studi of Gorizia, an Art Nouveau building designed by Zaninovich in the early 20th century as the headquarters of the Cassa Distrettuale per Ammalati. It is a strongly characterised building, located on a lot overlooking the new Valletta Park and offering the possibility of an extension capable of establishing new relationships between the pre-existing building and its urban and territorial context. The Laboratory deals with the different scales of the project, starting from urban, architectural and structural analysis, with the aim of constantly relating the various readings and intervention hypotheses. The workshop consists of 3 teaching modules, which operate in a closely coordinated manner, with constant seminar-type discussion moments: Architectural Design 4, Structural Problems of Historic Buildings, Architectural Restoration 2.

    Droni. Il rapporto tra le pubbliche utilità e la privacy nell’esercizio degli unmanned vehicles

    L’automazione costituisce una delle maggiori sfide nell’era contemporanea vista la sua diffusione in differenti settori: la sanità, i trasporti e la logistica, la mobilità urbana, l’ambiente di lavoro, e lo stesso finanziario/bancario. Il concetto di “remoto” o “autonomo” diviene sempre di più importante. È ben noto, infatti, il futuro prossimo della mobilità urbana si fonderà, essenzialmente, sui ‘droni’ e sui veicoli a guida autonoma. Alla luce di ciò, la research question attiene all’analisi dei cd. “unmanned vehicles” e, precisamente, come la loro implementazione possa – da un lato – rappresentare una minaccia per la privacy di ogni singolo individuo e – dall’altro lato – un mezzo idoneo per garantire la pubblica sicurezza e l’efficienza nel sistema degli scambi commerciali e dei trasporti.

    Etica & Politica / Ethics & Politics is an open access philosophical journal, being published only in an electronic format. The journal aims at promoting research and reflection, both historically and theoretically, in the field of moral and political philosophy, with no cultural preclusion or adhesion to any cultural current. Contributions should be submitted in one of these languages: Italian, English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish. All essays should include an English abstract of max. 200 words. The editorial staff especially welcomes interdisciplinary contributions with special attention to the main trends of the world of practice. The journal has an anonymous double peer review referee system. Three issues per year are expected. The copyright of the published articles remain to the authors.     La definizione di Beni Comuni esige un ripensamento semantico che ne eviti la banalizzazione. Avvicinarsi con metodo ai Beni Comuni ne svela la complessità sfidante per le ricadute in vari ambiti, dall’economia alla storia, dalla filosofia al diritto, dalla salute all’istruzione, oltre che nell’ardua definizione dei diritti individuali e collettivi. Essa implica reinterpretazioni giuridiche, interroga sull’interdipendenza tra pubblico e privato, perfino sull’aspirazione al benessere personale. I contributi raccolti nel volume approfondiscono positivamente l’intero spettro di tali questioni.
