PubblicazioneFortune della statuaria pubblica cavouriana: dalle polemiche di ieri all’indifferenza di oggi(EUT Edizioni Università di Trieste, 2026)This essay offers an analysis of the public statuary dedicated to Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, a figure celebrated by state institutions during the liberal period. It focuses in particular on two case studies that illuminate the level of engagement generated by the commemoration of the statesman: the monument in Turin (1873) and the monument in Rome (1895). Amid both acclaim and controversy, this statuary had a considerable impact on debates at the local level; however, over time, a certain indifference set in, effectively relegating these monuments largely to the role of “urban ornaments”.

PubblicazioneLa représentation des femmes albanaises dans les mass médias occidentaux pendant le régime communiste d’Enver Hoxha(EUT Edizioni Università di Trieste, 2026)This article analyzes the representation of Albanian women in Western media under the communist regime of Enver Hoxha (1945-1991). Drawing on the accounts of Western journalists, writ¬ers, and filmmakers who visited Albania between the 1960s and the 1980s, it shows that Albanian women were portrayed both as vic¬tims of a patriarchal past and as symbols of socialist emancipation. However, Western sources do not always fully reflect the reality of women’s condition in communist Albania, as some offer partial, idealized, or ideologically influenced perspectives.
