Abstract
Modern education arose in the humanistic age as a turning point in the teaching of Latin language, from the medieval jargon to the rediscovery of the classical style with its elegance. This contribution is devoted to the most important humanistic grammar texts, from Guarino Veronese to Lorenzo Valla and Niccolò Perotti, aiming to explore the complex interweaving of tradition and innovation in the field of language description.
