Attraverso le opere di alcuni esponenti
dell’ermeneutica filosofica (H.G. Gadamer,
G. Figal) e dell’estetica della ricezione (W.
Iser) il presente contributo illustra due
diverse questioni: 1) la lettura di un’opera
letteraria come l’accadere del significato di
quest’ultima; 2) il carattere (performativo
o meno) di questo genere di lettura. Sulla
questione 1: tutti sembrano condividere che
la lettura sia un Textgeschehen. Gadamer: la
lettura coinvolge e trasforma chi la fa. Iser:
il significato dell’opera viene costituito nella
lettura e il lettore ne subisce l’effetto estetico.
Figal: l’opera accade nella lettura ma il suo
accadere non le ‘appartiene’. Sulla questione 2:
il primo Gadamer e Iser presentano la lettura
letteraria come l’analogo di un’esecuzione
musicale. Figal cerca di illustrare la lettura
come l’esplorazione di uno spazio, quello del
testo, che non è essa a porre in essere. Through the works of some exponents of
philosophical hermeneutics (H.G. Gadamer,
G. Figal) and the aesthetics of reception (W.
Iser), this contribution illustrates two different
issues: 1) the reading of a literary work as
the happening of its meaning; 2) the character
(performative or not) of this kind of reading. On
question 1: everyone seems to agree that reading is
a Textgeschehen. Gadamer: reading involves
and transforms those who do it. Iser: the meaning
of the work is constituted in the reading and the
reader suffers the aesthetic effect. Figal: the work
happens in reading but its happening does not
‘belong’ to it. On question 2: the first Gadamer
and Iser present literary reading as the analogue
of a musical performance. Figal tries to illustrate
reading as the exploration of a space, that of the
text, which it does not create.
