Following a short outline of the history of the Iranian languages and Farsi, the
Author analyses the different waves of Iranian emigrations before and after the
Islamic Revolution. Data on the more recent Iranian emigration in Europe and Italy
are reviewed, and a short discussion on the cultural and translational problems
connected to emigration closes the essay. A bibliography of some 20 titles on the
problem is also appended.
