Dritan Hasa (DH) is currently an Assistant Professor (RTD-b) at the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Trieste, https://dscf.units.it/. Education 2013 – PhD in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, University of Trieste. 2009 - MSc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology at the University of Trieste. Work experience In 2018 DH obtained the National Scientific Qualification as Associate Professor (n. 63699, 03/D2 - CHIM/09). From September 2018 to October 2019 DH has worked as Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutics at the Leicester School of Pharmacy, Leicester, United Kingdom. From March 2017 to August 2018 DH has worked as Vice-Chancellor’s Lecturer in Pharmaceutics at the Leicester School of Pharmacy, Leicester, United Kingdom. From May 2014 to November 2016 DH has worked as postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge, United Kingdom From May 2013 to April 2014 DH has worked as postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Trieste, Italy Awards 2019 – Emerging Investigator, Crystal Growth and Design, ACS (https://axial.acs.org/2019/03/13/emerging-investigators-in-crystal-growth-design/). 2018 – Future Research leaders program, Leicester School of Pharmacy Research interests DH current research focuses on fundamental research at issues surrounding all aspects of crystallization and polymorphism in single and multicomponent materials (cocrystals). DH explores solvent-free pharmaceutical technologies such as ball milling and hot melt extrusion for the preparation of functional pharmaceutical materials. This is an exciting time for such green technologies: vast progress has been made in the last three decades, especially in academic research, and new areas of applications will soon affect substantially in real world applications. DH also has a keen interest on finding new applications for pharmaceutical polymeric materials.. The objective is to gain more knowledge on possible connections and/or differences between the solid-state and solution mechanisms of crystallization. Dr Dritan Hasa is co-author of 33 scientific papers (https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2147-9121) published in high-impact factor peer-reviewed journals, and has already been invited speaker in different national and international journals. In 2019 he was listed among 21 emerging Investigators in Crystal Growth & Design, a leading specialised journal of the American Chemical Society. Grants HEIF Project Funding 2018-19 (UK) Fee Waiver PhD Scholarship 2017 (UK) Vice-Chancellor's Future Research Leaders Scholarship (UK) Bando PRIN 2010-2011 (Italy) Bando “Fondo ricercatori di Ateneo – FRA 2015” (Italy) National and international collaborations DH is currently involved in a series of international collaborations in areas regarding cocrystallization, preformulation and development of new technological processes of medicinal molecules, including relevant international research groups at University College London, UK (Dr Dejan-Kresimir Bucar), University of Manchester, UK, (Dr Aurora Cruz-Cabeza), University of Warsaw, Poland (Prof. Krzsztof Wozniak), MicGill University, Canada (Dr Luzia Germann), Heinrich-Heine University of Dusseldorf, Germany (Prof. Peter Kleinebudde), University of Ljubljana, Slovenia (Prof. Iztok Grabnar) etc. DH collaborates regularly with other Italian Universities, including University of Turin, Padova, Bologna, Insubria etc. Scientific activity details During his research activity, since 2010, DH has authored 33 scientific publications in high impact multidisciplinary peer reviewed international journals, of which 20 as corresponding and/or first author, and over 10 conference abstracts.
