RESEARCH INTERESTS - Mass transport deposits originated from submarine slope instability and landslides (Apennines, Southern Alps and External Dinarides of Italy and Slovenia; Precordillera Argentina and Nankai Through, Japan). - Geology of mélanges and origin, kinematics and fabric of stratally disrupted units from mass transport processes, slope tectonics, mud diapirism, and tectonic deformations (Apennines and Southern Alps of Italy, North Island of New Zealand). - Interactions between shear strain, fluid circulation and mineralogy of clays in shear zones from diagenesis to anchizone. - Relationship between sedimentation and tectonics in the Tertiary accretionary wedges of the Northern Apennines and external Dinarides.
