GIOVANNI LANDI - Gennaio 2025 - Brief CV Professor of Mathematical Physics at the University of Trieste. `Laurea (110/110 e lode; summa cum laude)' in Physics at the `Università degli Studi di Salerno'; MSc in Mathematical Physics and Ph.D. in Mathematics both at the `Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA)' in Trieste. Positions of visiting professor, visiting scientist, post-doc, at the Syracuse University (Syracuse, NY, USA), the Cambridge University (Cambridge, England), the University of Provence (Marseille, France), the SISSA (Trieste, Italy), the ESI (Vienna, Austria). Author of a monograph, and of some 150 papers in professional journals and edited volumes; (co) editor of two volumes of proceedings, and of three special issues of the Journal of Geometry and Physics and of a special issue of SIGMA, all dedicated to noncommutative geometry and applications. As of January 2025 on Google Scholar: citations = 4048; h index = 32. Scientific activity in mathematical physics, ( noncommutative ) differential topology and geometry, Hopf algebras, and quantum groups and their applications to mathematical physics. Main lines of research are noncommutative manifolds (construction of metric and spin structures, vector and principal bundles); noncommutative gauge theories (duality equations, constructions of solutions, study of moduli spaces); Hopf algebras and quantum groups (as noncommutative manifolds, their use as generalized symmetries); harmonic analysis on noncommutative manifolds (Dirac and Laplace operators, index theorems) Lectured invited courses at 15 international schools and delivered invited seminars at some 100 international meetings. Plenary Speaker at the Canadian Mathematical Society Winter 2007 Meeting (London, ON, Canada, December 2007) and at The Eight International Conference on Progress in Theoretical Physics’ (Constantine, Algeria, October 2011) and a Parallel Section Speaker at the International Congress of Mathematical Physics 2006 (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, August 2006). Editor in Chief of the `Journal of Geometry and Physics'. Editor of `Letters in Mathematical Physics'. A founding Editor of the `Journal of Noncommutative Geometry'. Editor of the `Journal of Geometry and Physics' (Jan 2010 - Dec 2017). Member of the Editorial Board of: `Rendiconti dell'Istituto di Matematica dell'Università di Trieste'; `Symmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications'; `Advances in Mathematical Physics' (Jun 2008 - Dec 2013); `International Journal of Geometric Methods in Modern Physics (Sep 2003 - Sep 2013). Supervised nine PhD students and several post-doc researchers. Taught at the ICTP Diploma Programme; numerous undergraduate (`Laurea') courses on different topics at the University of Trieste and graduate courses on geometry and mathematical physics. Member of the (Advisory and/or Scientific and/or Organising) Committee of some 40 International Scientific Workshops or Conferences. Recent Grants: Associated Investigator for the Local Unit at Trieste University of the Project Prin 2010-11 -- Operator Algebras, Noncommutative Geometry and Applications. Principal Investigator of the Project Prin 2008 -- Noncommutative Geometry, Quantum Groups and Applications. Principal Investigator of the Project Prin 2006 -- Noncommutative Geometry, Quantum Groups and Applications.
