The session will start describing the problem that public administration and private companies face while trying to have real data regarding presences and provenience of people in events, concerts, tourist resorts, ....
The synthesis could be who, where, where from, how long, where to.
Then we’ll describe the technology chosen and in particular the data that cell phone providers (Vodafone, ...) are selling. A detailed description of the attributes, frequency, geographic resolution, ... using real samples.
Use of GIS for geocoding and analyzing those type of data and some other tool to represent, for example, Origin Destination information.
Some use cases (football match, concerts, events, ...) will be described to give an idea of how many different situations can be analyzed with these technology.
