Latino e greco ad Aquileia: lingue e identità

Abstract
By the extensive use of sample epigraphic texts of the harbour of Aquileia, and using the sociolinguistic approach, it is analized the use of the principal languages in the Mediterranean world in Roman period, in a multicultural speaking and writing context. The article points out that the Latin or Greek choice was determined by multi-faceted communication necessities and that a mixed identity brought to display the various forms of the wroten “bilingualism”.
