Abstract
The following article looks to connect the recent phenomenon of urbanization that has involved South East China and the main climatic changes that this dynamic has brought about in the affected areas. The climatic changes that have occurred in China over the last few decades are indicators of a profound phenomenon that concerns not only the environmental problem but, even more prominently, implicates the social stability of the country and its future geopolitical position in the international context. The next strategic choices, therefore, that the Chinese Communist Party must make, cannot dispense with this global viewpoint.
