The authors reflect on the phenomenon of mistanásia, the premature and miserable death that affects the poorest Brazilian population. They highlight the extent to which this social fact has worsened during the Covid-19 pandemic, because of the lack of sanitation and the precarious socio-economic conditions in which large sections of the Brazilian population live.
