The purpose of this paper is to compare the keywords of Cankar's prose and the keywords of Slovene culture, which were identified as such within the basic research project "Slovenian national identity in the light of tourist discourse". To this end, based on discourse analysis, linguistic analysis and the corpus approach, we researched the vocabulary of some of Cankar's prose works and political speeches and found a surprising consistency between the keywords of Slovenian culture and some of Cankar's keywords that grow into symbols.
