Rinodina candidogrisea, a commonly sterile sorediate species, is described
as new to science and reported from Austria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia and Switzerland.
ITS-rRNA sequence data as well as phenotypic apothecial characters show that it belongs
to the R. roscida-group.
