A scuola di robot: un’esperienza di pensiero creativo

Abstract
From October to December 2020, the schools of the Foundation Giovanni Paolo I di Mira (Venice) carried out a project for the promotion of the STEAM disciplines, thanks to a call from the Department for Equal Opportunities of the Presidency of the Italian Government in collaboration with the Centro Interdipartimentale per la Ricerca Didattica (CIRD) at the University of Trieste. The interest of the Foundation in the new disciplines started in 2017 to promote and develop creatively the spirit that had led to the establishment of the schools San Domenico Savio and San Pio X almost a century ago. The article illustrates the main activities carried out in the project, which ranged from robotics to tinkering, from coding to financial education and crowdfunding platforms. The initiative, entitled “Granma, did you know that… Elena, Fabiola, Ada and the others”, envisages the implementation of students’ skills along three axes: developing divergent creative thinking, overcoming gender stereotypes related to the STEAM disciplines and fostering an alliance between generations. Finally, a virtual exhibition allowed us to show the main results of the activities.
