LA PRODUZIONE DELLA CARTOGRAFIA JOG SERIE 1501 (GROUND) DAL DB250 DELL’I.G.M. THE PRODUCTION OF THE JOG SET 1501 (GROUND) CARTOGRAPHY FROM DB250 OF I.G.M.

L’Istituto Geografico Militare tra i propri compiti ha quello della formazione di cartografia alla scala 1:250.000, in particolare della serie Joint Operations Graphics 1501 (JOGGround). A partire dal primo impianto le procedure di allestimento delle varie edizioni hanno subito una progressiva evoluzione supportata anche da un consistente aggiornamento tecnologico. L’adozione di nuove specifiche tecniche internazionali (DMA MIL-J-89100), a partire dal 2004, ha radicalmente cambiato non solo le caratteristiche del prodotto cartografico ma anche e soprattutto il processo di produzione. La serie è oggi prodotta attraverso la formazione di un database cartografico, il DB250, con successive fasi di editing cartografico e vestizione grafica. Since 2004 the application of DMA MIL-J-89100 specifications has radically changed not only the characteristics of the cartographic product but also all the production workflow. A spatial database, the DB250, is today used for the JOG-G production through following phases of symbolization, generalization and cartographic editing.
