In the budget evaluation of a thermal plant and in particular of a heat/power station reference is usually made to energy fluxes, and efficiencies of the single machines and appliances are evaluated with reference to energy. Adopting the concept of exergy, it is possible to evaluate more completely the influence of the single components on the efficiency of the transformation and operation cycle.
