Abstract
The “communitary method”, consolidated during the first 50 years of European Community, guided the elaboration and the drafting of the Constitutional Treaty, which was presented to heads of States and Governments on December 2003 in order to get it approved. This volume, opening the new series of books of ETL Consortium, gather reflections on principles and values proposed by the Draft Constitutional Treaty, whose use seems to considerably increase the areas of interest of European juridical community. Furthermore, it is highlighted that the Constitutional Convention considerably widened the scope of jurisdictional protection, both with regard to individuals’ protection field, and with regard to the setting up of a jurisdictional control over the aforementioned principles, strengthening the role of the Court of Justice as a federal organ of sort.
