Experimental Investigation of Phenomena which take place in the “Moon Pool” of a Drilling Ship Drilling ships are provided with a drilling well (or “moon pool”) and this gives rise, during the navigation, to vibrations due to the water oscillations, which cause an increase of the residuary resistance of the ship. To eliminate this inconvenience we have experimented the use of a series of screens and measured the residual oscillations into the “moon pool”.
