This essay aims at analysing the problematics, difficulties, anxieties in the imaginative perception and fictional representation of politically motivated and organised violence, and more specifically in the development of the Troubles thriller, following Franco Moretti’s theoretical framework of literary evolutionism, focussing in detail on its comic version in Colin Bateman’s revolutionary comic Troubles thrillers.
