Cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) is one of the most common nonmelanoma skin cancer worldwilde, with a more invasive growth pattern and higher potential to metastatize than basal cell carcinoma. Although several risk factors have been linked to a high metastatic potential of cSCC, no widely accepted classification system for this common subtype of cancer exists.
