Abstract
Since the birth of the age of mechanical propulsion, the artistic and architectonical patrimony of Venice and its lagoon is threaten by craft waves which allow the life and the tourist development of the town, but, on the other hand, tend to jeopardize its future by several repeated injuries on the fundamental structure of buildings and shore. A Committee was created, aimed to study which and how many inconveniences occur caused by influence of wave motion on the environment. So the measures capable of limiting and then eliminating all possible alterations could be identified and proposed. The paper reports some data obtained from the most recent scientific investigations and resolutions promulgated and suggested to defend the town and the lagoon from the wave motion damages.
