This paper aims to discuss the translation solutions identified in the European Portuguese translation of Beppe Fenoglio's La malora. These solutions were adopted according to the author’s translation sensitivity and aimed at reproducing at the same time the peculiarities of his language. Indeed, Fenoglio's translation work from and into English, reveals a particular attention to the sensory sphere, an element that has been attempted to transpose into Portuguese. The translation analysis focuses mainly on the Piedmontese lexical and morphosyntactic elements, which are strategical elements in the socio-linguistic representation of the characters in Fenoglio’s work.
