Starting from the assumption that every proverbial code is distinguished, in terms of perception, from the usual language by a series of phonetic, syntactic and semantic differences (but not only), we will try to analyze the importance that sentences and maxims play in the work of the Romanian writer Ion Creangă. At the same time, we will try to investigate the material inventoried linguistically and translatologically, based on the Italian version of Creangă’s prose by Anna Colombo.
