Kraj povijesti i hrvatski novopovijesni roman

Članak nudi refleksiju o stanju raspada velikih priča u suvremenoj hrvatskoj književnoj praksi i teoriji. Posebna se pažnja posvećuje povijesnom romanu u posljednja dva desetljeća, i kritici koja ga je definirala kao historiografsku metafikciju. Nepotpuno ostvarenje postmodernističkih postupaka u tim romanima najčešće se pripisuje činjenici da u Hrvatskoj povijest još nije završila. Zahtjev za postmodernističkim transformacijama žanra dovodi se u vezu s etičkim pitanjima s kojima se hrvatski roman o povijesti susreće. Posebno se analiziraju romani Triemeron Nedjeljka Fabrija i Sonnenschein Daše Drndić. Pokušava se detektirati nasilje znanja kao povratak velikih priča: u kritici koja govori o tuđoj traumi, i u moralističkom diskursu romana. The article is about the state of dissolution of metanarratives in contemporary Croatian literature and literary criticism. Particular attention is devoted to the historical novel of the last two decades and to literary criticism defining it as historiographic metafiction. The incomplete realisation of postmodernist demands in these novels is usually attributed to the fact that history has not yet finished in Croatia. The request for postmodern transformation of the genre of historical novel is connected to the ethical issues the Croatian historical novel addresses, in particular the novels Triemeron by Nedjeljko Fabrio and Trieste (Sonnenschein) by Daša Drndić. In the article we attempt to detect the return of the grand narrative, both in the case of criticism, when it addresses the trauma suffered by others, and in the moral discourse within the novels.
