Abstract
The aim of this work was to investigate a possible relation between creativity, evaluated using a divergent thinking task, and the process of producing new and original fairy tales in children aged between 6 and 12 years. Results show that high basic skills, in terms of fluency and originality, predict the fairy tales' degree of creativity. Thus, very creative children are able to revise in an innovative way some typical elements belonging to the fairy tale storytelling, in order to produce original stories never told before.
