Abstract
The ‘process of change’ in Bolivia, initiated by Evo Morales and continued by the current president Luis Arce, includes a new ‘decolonizing’ reform of the child protection system. The goal is to overcome institutionalization and reduce the influence of foreign actors in this socio-political sphere. The author examines how this process has been implemented and perceived, focusing on the tension between ideology and practices.
