Molti pensatori, parlando del futuro, anticipavano l’estinzione dello stato. I marxisti contrapponevano allo stato l’auto-organizzazione della società comunista. I liberali puntavano sul primato assoluto delle relazioni economiche, finalizzate a spazzare via i confini e trasformare il mondo in un mercato comune. È lecito presumere che il sistema statale come categoria storica potrà acquisire altre forme in futuro. Oggi, tuttavia, lo Stato continua ad esistere e svolge un ruolo importante nelle relazioni internazionali. L’auto-organizzazione della società si riflette invece nel numero crescente di attori non statali. Un numero significativo di Ngo a ragione è considerato come parte integrante della diplomazia moderna vista come un sistema di comunicazione della comunità internazionale. Si potrebbe anche dire che le ONG internazionali come importanti istituzioni sociali riescono a colmare alcune lacune che si formano nel contesto della politica internazionale troppo burocratizzata. opposed to the State a self-organization of communist society. Liberals emphasized the
absolute primacy of economic relations aimed at eliminating the borders and transforming
the world into a common marketplace. One can agree that the state system as a historical
category may acquire other forms in the future. Today, however, states continue to exist and
play an important role in international relations. The self-organization of the society is
reflected in the growing number of non-state actors. A significant number of Ngo can reasonably
be considered as an integral part of modern diplomacy viewed as a communication
system of the international community. To some extent we can say that international NGOs as important social institutions are able to bridge some gaps that are formed in the context
of too bureaucratic international politics.
