The iconography of votive Terracottas from the Northern Sanctuary of Pontecagnano redirects to a rather coherent ritual context, in which the central role is carried out by the piglet sacrifice and the offering of vegetables. The rites, performed by male and female devotees, were addressed to propitiate a local divinity, with Demetria’s feature, protecting agrarian fertility.
