we report the main natural fish and shellfish toxins and their pathogenic syndromes. PSP, NSP, ASP, DSP,tetradotoxins and ciguatera poison are produced by Algae and marine microorganisms. Then they are concentrated in fish and organs by fish and shellfish. in spite of many paper about the presence of toxins in algae, fish and shellfish of Italian seas, it does not seem that the risk of intoxication is so high as in other countries.
