The reawakening of the Teide volcano in 2004 suggested the installation of several seismic stations, operating in continuous
mode. This allowed the application of different techniques of time series data analysis. The results show that analysis of the
background seismic noise in the surroundings of the volcano not only allows forecasting the occurrence of tectonic
(volcanotectonic??) events but also the tectonic events have a clear influence in the variation of the background noise
characteristics.
