TRANSITION STUDIES REVIEW
Abstract
The ancient Mediterranean recalls the principle of human dignity, highlighting the resilience of an heritage which is unavoidably cultural, but mostly social. The Mediterranean is reconnected once more to classicism not only as a cultural deposit but also as a social heritage. The Mediterranean has become today a complex reality, sometimes also a menacing one. Could Mediterranean civil societies to sow the dialogue, keeping in mind that civil society should not be viewed solely through the lens of desirable potentialities and that conflicts and breaks are incidental in the nature of civil society?
