Through the analysis of Eurostat data, the paper interprets the European regional context, searching for an optimal size for the region like the European Union in terms of geographical, financial, economic, social and spatial. The use of raster and statistical techniques for analyzing data and indicators, such as Principal Component Analysis, is used to investigate the issues relating to demography, employment, economy, transport and services.
Attraverso l'analisi dei dati Eurostat, il saggio interpreta il contesto regionale europeo, alla ricerca di una dimensione ottimale per la regione tipo dell'Unione europea in termini geografici, finanziari, economico sociali e spaziali. L'uso di raster e di tecniche statistiche per l'analisi dei dati e degli indicatori, come per esempio l'Analisi delle componenti principali, serve ad approfondire i temi relativi a demografia, occupazione, economia, trasporti e servizi.
