L’articolo si propone di giustificare l’uso del genere fumetto come metodo narrativo di eventi storici di rilievo quali guerra, fame e sofferenza attraverso l’analisi della graphic novel Survilo di Ol’ga Lavrent’eva. L’opera è infatti la biografia a fumetti di Valentina Vikent’evna Survilo, nonna dell’autrice: il filo della narrazione accompagna il lettore dall’infanzia spensierata all’ingiusto arresto del padre, dall’esilio al ritorno a Leningrado, dallo scoppio della guerra all’assedio di Leningrado, dal dopoguerra allo scoprire finalmente la tanto attesa verità. The article aims to justify the use of the comics genre as a narrative method of particularly relevant historical events such as war, hunger and suffering through the analysis of the graphic novel Survilo by Ol’ga Lavrent’eva. This literary work is, in fact, the comic-book biography of Valentina Vikent’evna Survilo, the author’s grandmother: the narrative thread leads the reader from a carefree childhood to the unjust arrest of her father, from being exiled to returning to Leningrad, from the outbreak of war to the siege of Leningrad, from the postwar period to finally discovering the long-awaited truth.
