The article argues that the figures of the child and the migrant articulate a description of
human nature, which accounts for the conflictive aspects not only of the relation between
human and non-human animals, but also among members of the Homo sapiens species. To this
effect, the article will provide a close investigation of the notions of “chronic infancy” and
“symbolic transplant".
