This contribution aims to describe the first years activity of Giovanni Marchiori as a carver. Trough stylistic comparisons, the author attributes to the sculptor three great works: the Madonna del Rosario, now in the homonymous church in Lussingrande, the Annunciazione with Santa Margherita, kept in the Civic Museum of Belluno, and the Esaltazione della Croce in the Venetian church of San Pietro di Castello. Moreover, a magnificent wooden Crucifix, kept in the Basilica di Sant’Eufemia in Grado, has to be attributed to Marchiori.
