Experimental Design of Large Neighborhoods for the Regeneration of the City. In the Integrated Laboratory of
Urban Design and Planning, in Udine University, we experiment projects of neighborhoods with a traditional spatiality
to: re-establish suburbs, rebalance complex cities and reduce the consumption of soil using dense settlements. The reasons
are many and grafted both in the economic cycles and in the delay of the overcoming of thresholds to the development for
the Italian cities. The first project was developed for Sant'Erasmo in the Venice Lagoon, with a self-sufficient neighborhood
to balance the urban masses of the municipality, bringing the ancient city back to the center of the system. The second, of
"mending", was conducted in the area of Udine Sud-Est. The idea is to reverse the urban planning process starting from an
indicative Volumetric Guide Design, to derive a prescriptive Local Plan.
