Abstract
The Author compares with some theoretical positions concerning contemporary art to focus on the category of "global art". While Belting uses this category to overcome modern art history, Rebentisch disputes the pertinence and promotes the critical-political role of modern art for the present. But Vettese is skeptical about the impact of political criticism in contemporary art. The Author highlights in this way how the sense of Contemporary is still uncertain and indefinable.
