Abstract
The paper deals with evolution problems involving time derivatives of fractional order α, with 1 < α ≤ 2. The solutions are expressed in terms of operator Mittag-Leffler functions. The action of such operator functions is approximated by rational Krylov methods whose convergence features are investigated.
