Poesie, lettere, titoli di giornale si alternano nelle vignette ad aneddoti dal tono leggero che nascondono continui rimandi e citazioni a fatti della biografia e del mito di due poeti, Achmatova e Gumilëv, che hanno vissuto una vita in equilibro tra letteratura, storia e memoria. Achmatova: 6 istorij (Akhmatova: 6 Stories) and Menja zovut Gumi-lev (My Name is Gumi-lyov) tell the life and poetry of Anna Akhmatova and Nikolay Gumilyov through the language of comics, which allows for a reading at different levels of depth. Already a synthesis of verbal and visual codes, comics are here amplified in their hybrid character by the coexistence of different text genres. Poems, letters, and newspaper headlines alternate in the cartoons with light-hearted anecdotes that hide continuous references and quotations to facts of both the biography and myth of two poets, Akhmatova and Gumilyov, who lived a life in balance between literature, history, and memory.
