In chronic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, the progression of the disease is characterized by stress oxidative, inflammation, and elevated levels of cholesterol. In mevalonate kinase deficiency, an auto-inflammatory disease, the correlation between inflammation and cholesterol levels is opposite.
