La funzione economica del fiume Anapo nella cartografia dei secoli XVIII-XIX ΤΗΕ ΕCΟΝΟΜΙCΑL FUΝCΤΙΟΝ ΟF ΤΗΕ RIVΕR ΑΝΑΡΟ IN 18th AND 19th CENTURIES MAPS

Lo studio è rivolto all'esame della delineazione del corso del fiume Anapo nella rappresentazione cartografica storica del territorio siracusano. Appena accennato nelle carte più note per l'esiguità del suo corso, il fiume diviene protagonista in alcuni documenti manoscritti che ne evidenziano la funzione economica, sia per l'attività molitoria che per la produzione di fibre tessili. Object of this research is to esamine the course of the river Anapo as one can see it in the maps of the Syracuse territory through history. The river Anapo, hardly mentioned in the best known maps for the meagreness of its course, becomes protagonist in some documents and manuscripts which underline its economical function, both for the milling industry as well as for the production of textile fibres.
