In recent years, in Trieste, were developed applications for forensic virtual autopsy (with multislice CT) to assess the benefits of this tecnique versusd traditional autopsy practice and to valuee the advantages of this kind of repeteable and non distructive tecnique in mummiology and ancient skeletal human remains. CT allowed the identification of causes of death, confirming and complementing the traditionally autopsy results.
