Il saggio prende in esame le pratiche creditizie in uso nel Nord d’Italia tra XIV e XV secolo e le loro caratteristiche: prestiti semplici, depositi, vendite a credito e soccide di animali. Gli operatori del credito spesso praticano altre attività lavorative e si occupano del settore saltuariamente; va tuttavia sottolineato che il credito permette spesso l’ascesa sociale con esempi noti in Veneto e Lombardia. Nel periodo analizzato entrano nel mercato creditizio prestatori toscani, lombardi e ebrei. Le fonti testimoniano infine modalità di prestito gestite al femminile sia nel mondo ebraico sia in quello cristiano. The essay examines the credit practices in use in Northern Italy between the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries and their characteristics: simple loans, deposits, credit sales and agistments. Credit operators often deal with other work activities and target the sector from time to time; however, it shouldbe emphasized that credit often allows social ascent with examples known in Veneto and Lombardy. Tuscan, Lombard and Jewish moneylenders entered the credit market during the analysis period. Finally, the sources testify to lending methods managed by womenboth in the Jewish and Christian worlds.
