Abstract
The paper focuses on coin findings clustered in small spaces in buildings that are not always easy to qualify. These are compared with similar finds documented in buildings of a commercial character or with functions related to banking or monetary exchange. The examples are distributed across Western Europe and the Near East and the analysis leads to the conclusion that such clusters are in themselves indicators of economic-commercial and/or banking activities.
