The author presents a method for forming nulls in prescribed directions in the radiation pattern P0 of an antenna array by phase-only control. The method modifies the excitation phases of P0, allowing the construction of a sequence of patterns {Pn} having increasingly deeper nulls. A solution is provided by terminating the sequence at a suitable step.
