Integrated design of an eco-friendly luxury sailing super-yacht

Abstract
The continuous increasing interest to environmental protection and low emission transportation has influenced also the pleasure yacht market. In the specific case of a pleasure sailing yacht, the attitude for a ‘green profile’ has a considerable impact on the craft design regarding: propulsion system in transit and power generation on board. These two aspects are influencing the internal layout of the pleasure craft, which should at first grant the internal habitability with a high comfort level. On this purpose the internal spaces have been selected as constraints for the hull form design, in such a way to reduce consumptions during motor transfer without scarify the internal spaces. On the other side, the vessel power plant has been designed considering a hybrid propulsion system and mounting the most modern green technologies for electric power generation on board.
