The mainstay of therapy for undescended testes is
surgical treatment within the first years of life in
order to avoid ongoing testicular degenerative
changes. The surgical therapy for the palpable
undescended testis is orchidopexy and when the
testis is non-palpable the laparoscopic approach is
considered both as a diagnostic tool as well as an
important therapeutic solution. In this article the
different aspects of the laparoscopic approach to
undescended testis will be described and discussed
