IL RUOLO DELLA CARTOGRAFIA NELL'INSEGNAMENTO DELLA LINGUA ITALIANA COME L2: UNA RASSEGNA DEI LIBRI DI TESTO PER GLI STUDENTI UNIVERSITARI NEGLI STATI UNITI THE ROLE OF CARTOGRAPHY IN LEARNING ITALIAN AS A SECOND LANGUAGE: A REVIEW OF TEXTBOOKS FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN THE U.S.A.
The paper presents the results of an analysis of the use of cartographic images in textbooks for the study of Italian as a second language in the American universities. Through a selection of the publishers’ commercial offer of textbooks, the authors briefly analyze: the presence of cartographic products, their typology, their level of precision, their being up-to-date. Through the definition of advantages and disadvantages of the material presented in the textbooks, the paper aims at offering some thoughts on the didactic potential of cartography in language learning.
Abstract
L'articolo intende presentare i risultati di un'analisi campionaria sull'utilizzo della cartografia nei libri di testo per l'apprendimento della lingua italiana rivolti agli studenti delle università americane. Attraverso una selezione del mercato editoriale del settore, si analizzano sinteticamente: la presenza di elementi cartografici, la loro tipologia, la loro accuratezza, il loro grado di aggiornamento. Attraverso la messa a fuoco di pregi e difetti del materiale in commercio, l'articolo si propone di offrire alcune riflessioni sul potenziale didattico della cartografia nell'apprendimento di Una lingua.
