This book presents a range of proposals aiming at founding a strategy for revitalizing of transports and logistics in the framework of the Italian portion of Mediterranean; we’re talking about a field which has been long marginalized and risks of being further marginalized in the future, severely damaging the development of Italian economy. The project takes into account the influence of the new European system imposing the promotion of the competitiveness of industrial clusters and infrastructural and port systems, while obliging Member States to adopt measures apt to guarantee the effectiveness of SGIs. Particularly, a series of reforms are proposed: a radical reform of ports, a renovation of the role of Trenitalia Cargo in the general framework of liberalization of railway services, the implementation of a network of sea-motorways and the dire realization of those railway infrastructures apt to improve the traffic capacity of north-west and north-east systems in a short time, which sustain the national transport policy.
