Le recensement de la production éditoriale d’un imprimeur du début du XVIe siècle ne peut éviter de prendre en compte le problème des livres perdus. Une enquête sur la pratique éditoriale du libraire imprimeur parisien Michel Le Noir et sur ses éditions de romans imprimées entre 1498 et 1520 a permis de dresser un premier bilan de ses éditions perdues et de retrouver des ouvrages jusqu’à présent inconnus ou oubliés.
The census of a printer's editorial production at the beginning of the 16th century cannot avoid taking into account the problem of lost books. An investigation into the editorial practice of the Parisian printer and bookseller Michel Le Noir and his editions of novels printed between 1498 and 1520 made it possible to draw up a provisional assessment of his lost editions and to find works hitherto unknown or forgotten.
